Princeton opens early voting ahead of Nov. 3 election
Princeton announced in-person early voting runs Oct. 17 through Oct. 29 at Town Hall ahead of the Nov. 3 state election, with a voter registration deadline of Oct. 24 and a vote-by-mail application deadline of Oct. 27.
The Town of Princeton announced details for in-person early voting and key deadlines ahead of the Nov. 3 state election.
In-person early voting runs from Saturday, Oct. 17 through Thursday, Oct. 29 at Town Hall, 6 Town Hall Drive. Hours vary by day: Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 run in the morning or late morning, weekdays mostly run 9 a.m. to noon, and Wednesdays, Oct. 21 and Oct. 28, run from noon to 3 p.m.
Oct. 24 is the deadline to register to vote, update an address, change a name or change a party affiliation for this election. The Town Clerk's Office will hold an in-person registration session that day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Town Hall. Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. that night, and mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by Oct. 24.
Applications for a vote-by-mail ballot must reach the Town Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. on Oct. 27; a postmark does not satisfy that deadline.
Mail-in ballots can be returned in person at Town Hall, by mail, or in the white election ballot dropbox at Town Hall's front entrance, which is available 24 hours a day. Town Clerk Horsung recommends using the dropbox rather than the mail for ballots returned in the week before Election Day.
Election Day is Nov. 3. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Thomas Prince School Gymnasium, 170 Sterling Rd. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3, and domestic ballots must arrive at the Town Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. on Nov. 6 to count. Overseas ballots must arrive by 5 p.m. on Nov. 13.
Residents with questions can contact Clerk Horsung at [email protected] or 978-464-2103.
