Volunteers sought for Goodnow Park Spooky Walk setup
Princeton is asking for volunteers to help set up Goodnow Park's Spooky Walk on Oct. 31 starting at noon, ahead of the 4 to 6 p.m. event for trick-or-treaters.
The Town of Princeton announced Oct. 26 that it needs volunteers to help decorate Goodnow Park for the town's Spooky Walk on Halloween.
Setup is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, starting at noon, to prepare the trail for the Spooky Walk, which runs from 4 to 6 p.m. The town has collected a number of Halloween decorations and is looking for people to carry and hang items along the trail.
The town's long-term goal is for families, individuals, businesses and community groups to each adopt a section of the trail and build their own Halloween displays, which organizers said could become a community tradition, though they noted that building that level of participation will take time.
Residents are encouraged to set up along the trail to hand out candy, and those whose displays do not require a vehicle are asked to consider setting up in the woods rather than the parking lot. Volunteers can help for an hour or stay for the full setup, and anyone interested in decorating their own section of the trail is welcome to do so.
Anyone who can help or who would like to claim a spot along the trail is asked to contact Deb Faucher, chair of Princeton Parks & Recreation.
