The Town of Princeton announced Oct. 29 details for the Nov. 3 State Election, including where and when to vote and how to handle mail-in ballots.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thomas Prince School Gym, 170 Sterling Rd. Voters are told to look for "Voter Entrance" signs upon arrival.

Residents can check their voter registration status at any time on the Secretary of State's Elections webpage. Inactive voters must fill out an Affirmation of Current and Continuous Residence with the Election Warden and should bring an acceptable form of identification; the Secretary of State's Inactive Voter webpage lists what forms qualify.

The ballot will span multiple pages, with the first card double-sided and the second single-sided. A sample ballot is available on the Secretary of State's page. The Secretary of the Commonwealth's office has mailed printed copies of the 2026 Information for Voters Guide, known as the "Red Book," to all households, covering the offices and nine questions on the ballot. An online version of the guide is also available.

Mail-in ballots cannot be dropped off at the polls on Election Day. They must reach Town Hall by the close of polls at 8 p.m. Voters may hand deliver ballots to the Town Clerk or use the white election ballot dropbox at the Town Hall's front entrance, which is available 24/7. The town recommends returning ballots as early as possible to avoid mail delays. Voters can track their mail-in ballot status, including when it was mailed, returned and whether it was accepted or rejected, using the Secretary of State's Track My Ballot tool.

Residents with questions can contact Clerk Horsung at [email protected] or 978-464-2103.
